Sausalito (Sea Trek)

The WaveChaser 2006-07 winter series continues with race #2 on Saturday 11/11/06 in Sausalito. The event will be staged from Sea Trek. Directions can be found at http://www.seatrekkayak.com/pages/directions/directionstost.htm.

As with our past WaveChaser races, we'll be offering three courses: 2 mile novice course, 6 mile short course, and 10 mile long course. Generalized course descriptions can be found at: www.wavechaser.com/guide/course.html .

Start times are 9:00am novice course, 10:00am short course, and 11-11:30am long course. Registration closes 30 minutes prior to each schedule race start time.

Novice course will be run in the calm waters near Sea Trek. Short course stays within Richardson Bay and will be an out-and-back to/from Belvedere. Long course will be an out-and-back to-from a turn just past Point Diablo.

The last WaveChaser race at Sea Trek was in the fall of 2004. Many remember the fast currents from that day. Some long course paddlers were unable to make any headway against the strong ebb tide at Yellow Bluff just a couple of miles from the finish. The predicted currents for our 2006 edition are much milder...perhaps to the delight of some and the disappointment of others.
